Since last Sunday evening (5th of May), I'm working on a new big project...
....a BLANKET !!!!!!
It all started because Tobia wanted a blanket to cover himself when he is watching the TV on the sofa in the living room. Yes, I know that we live in JK, where we have summer all year round, but because of the humidity (and the heat!!!) and because of mosquitos (that could bring dengue.....) we have a lot of Acs in the house, and there is a "naughty" one on the top of the TV in front of the sofa, so.......
The inspiration arrived through Ravelry, where I found the Block Stitch Afghan pattern by Sue Pinner. This pattern is available for free on her blog, but what really helped me are not the written instructions, but the good pictures of her work!!!!
I have to destash my stash of yarn, so....
I've chained 500 hundreds of chain stitches (more or less : I didn't check twice the actual big number!!!), using a 4mm hook. The pattern is very easy : you have to alternate rows of 3DCs shells+chain-1 spaces with rows made with SC+chain 2 groups repeated till the end of the row! You work your 3DCs shells over the chain2 stitches!! Easy peasy, indeed!!!
Another nice aspect of this pattern is that you never have to turn your work : each new row starts at the beginning of the previous one!!! So good!!!
I pick a new colour at the beginning of the new starting row!
I'm working on it every evening : repetitive and relaxing ! I like that!
...and it's growing and growing.....!!!!!
Someone is constantly checking on me...
....maybe a little bit interested in the work going on????? ;oD
