A paneled bedroom

Today I would like to tell you something more about the design of a bedroom I am currently working on.

One of our clients asked us for help to design and to decorate their master bedroom. They definitely wanted to see their bedroom paneled. As our company Lefèvre Interiors is known for creating paneling, custom made, according to tradition, I was very pleased to start designing this bedroom.

After having browsed a huge file of bedroom images, this image of a bedroom designed by William Heffner, was definitely the kind of bedroom my client wanted us to realize !

I had to take into account that our client absolutely wanted to see a fireplace in the bedroom.

After having discussed our sketches, we started to make the final plans of the bedroom.

The montage of the paneled room is finished.

Below you can see pictures of the paneled room finished with a base coat.

In the meantime, I prepared a proposal of the color palette to use in this bedroom.

As the master bedroom looks out over the beautiful garden, I suggested to bring in a shade of green into the room.

The niches on both sides of the fireplace are of French oak, which I wanted to be limepainted in a shade of green.

5I made a selection of Farrow & Ball paint colors for the room,

together with a selection of fabrics and furniture finishes.

Belgian linen will be used for the window treatment.

We finally have chosen for F&B Clunch to finish the paneling and F&B Breakfast Room Green to limepaint the display niches.

I do know that what you see here on this picture below doesn’t look as the chosen colors, but you have to know that it is almost impossible to reproduce the exact colors. Taking these pictures, the niche LED lights arranged in lighting strips were turned on. And using a lime paint finish on oak wood has a totally different look than using an eggshell paint finish.

The previous days I was thinking about the decoration of the bedroom and I would love to see some beautiful decorative items displayed in the niches on both sides of the mantelpiece.

Our client still has to make a lot of choices before the bedroom is totally finished. Furniture, bedding, nightstands, lighting fixtures, bedlinen,…

I would love to see the nightstands with a cream or celadon finish.

This pair of beauties will definitely be seen in the bedroom.

I found the chairs at Garnier Antiques.

I hope you enjoyed my post of today and I do hope to show you the finished bedroom within a few weeks !

Talk to you soon !

trees...

....I love you, trees!!!!
That's why lately I'm obsessed with them, quite a lot!!!
I have different projects on the hook related with trees, but let's start with the first one....

....a star and a granny diamond......only one????

....obviously no !!!

...yes, above you can see all the pieces needed to complete a christmas decoration.....

....I'm only waiting for the right mood to start the sewing......

But I have other 2 project on the way!!!!!

The second work has to be kept secret until the middle of November.....sorry !!!!!!!

I can show you the third one, instead, ok? Good!!! ;oD

Working with granny diamonds, gave me a new tree idea, but nothing to do with Christmas, this time!!

I wanted a huge tree....

....it measures 62cmx62cm, more or less !!!!!

I started with the foliage, crocheting in total 14 granny diamonds and joining them with the "join as you go " method.
Then, I made the trunk, starting with 3 complete granny diamonds to which I joined 6 half diamonds!!!
Even here, I've used the join as you go method!
The last step consisted in adding more "leaves" to the tree. I did that crocheting a scallop edge around the green diamonds.....too much??? Maybe, but I really like the 3D effect!!!

I'm really curious to know your impressions about this tree !!!!
In the next post I'll show you what I made with it..... ;oD ..... !!!!!

Hezký sváteční podvečer,
hvězdičky mi "nedají spát" a tak po prostírce jsem opravdu MUSELA :o)))) vyzkoušet i polštářek. Nakonec jsem i zadní stranu uháčkovala. Ufff.......

Mějte krásný večer!

Beauty is where you find it #82 : RED !!!!

The following pictures were taken a little while ago, in September....
....We were (I and Matteo!!!) waiting for the right moment to show them off!!!!

....this red "morphsuite" was bought in Stockholm (here, here, and here !!!) last Summer!
Since then, everywhere we went, Matteo has shown this suite to everyone as he is very proud of it "You know? You can easily drink through it!!!!".....he is still  just a 14 (and 1/2!) years old boy!! ;oD

He is really a red lover : even the hat and the iPod match with the suite!!!

Mini colourful pillows!!!

Back in February and in March, I was experimenting with some oval crocheted table runners, to prepare myself for this big project....

I had fun in playing with table runners, but I didn't know how to reuse my first products, that were nice but not so good to display on a table!!! ;oD

Yesterday afternoon I HAD THE IDEA !!!!!!
Easy peasy my dears : I had just to fold my projects in halves widthwise!!!!!

Follow me.....

...then, I took a hook, some colourful contrasting yarns and I started to sew the 2 halves together using just a row of slip stitches, that formed a nice chain in the front...

....and a kind of running stitch on the back....

This one resemble a heart in its final shape (after filling it with some toy stuffing)....

I sewed even the other one....

....that was completed in a flash.....

this one, instead, reminds me of a horse saddle....!!!!!......

They are ready now for some group photos.....

....and this is their final destination (yes, our sofa in the living room!) ......

...to be shared with some old friends.... ;oD ......

YIPPIE !!!!!!!!
